March 10, 2007Game 69: Devils Beat Sabres 3-2
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Sabres 3-2 in Buffalo to get
within one point of the Sabres for the Eastern Conference lead on Saturday,
March 10, 2007.
Dainius Zubrus beat Martin Brodeur at 3:23 to give Buffalo a 1-0
Travis Zajac tied the game with a goal that beat Ryan Miller at
5:40. Zajac's 14th goal of the season was assisted by Jamie
Langenbrunner and Zach Parise.
The Devils outshot the Sabres 11-10 in the first period, but the
teams were tied, 1-1.
33 seconds into the second period, Mike Rupp scored to give the
Devils a 2-1 lead. Patrik Elias and Paul Martin assisted on Rupp's fifth
goal of the season.
Daniel Briere tied the game 2-2, with a goal at 16:12.
Brian Rafalski re-gained the lead for the Devils with a
short-handed goal at 19:32. Jim Dowd assisted on Rafalski's eighth goal
of the season.
The Sabres outshot the Devils 13-9 in the second period, but the
Devils led 3-2.
