The New Jersey Devils lost 1-4 at home to the Boston Bruins on
Sunday, March 4, 2007.
Aaron Ward beat Martin Brodeur at 12:26 of the first period to
give Boston a 1-0 lead.
The Bruins outshot the Devils 12-6 in the first period, which
ended with the Bruins leading, 1-0.
Marco Sturm scored a short-handed goal just 19 seconds into the
second period to increase the Bruins lead to two goals.
The Devils outshot the Bruins 11-10 in the second period.
Mike Rupp got the Devils on the board with a goal that beat Joey
MacDonald at 6:40 of the third period. Brian Gionta and Paul Martin
assisted on Rupp's fourth goal of the season.
Brandon Bochenski scored at 8:31 of the third period. P.J.
Axelsson added an empty net goal at 19:18 to seal the win for Boston.
