Game 65: Devils Lose Shootout to Maple Leafs 3-4

    The New Jersey Devils lost a shootout 3-4 to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday, March 2, 2007.

    The Maple Leafs outshot the Devils 8-7 in the first period, though neither team was able to score.

    Jamie Langenbrunner beat Andrew Raycroft on a power-play just 57 seconds into the second period to give the Devils a 1-0 lead.   Brian Rafalski and Patrik Elias assisted on Langenbrunner's 22nd goal of the season.

    Jay Pandolfo deflected the puck past Raycroft at 17:19 of the second to make it a two goal Devils lead.   Pandolfo's 10th goal of the season was assisted by Colin White and Erik Rasmussen.

    The second period ended with the Devils leading the Leafs, 2-0.   The Devils outshot Toronto 11-8 in the period.

    Carlo Colaiacovo beat Martin Brodeur at 8:35 of the third period to get Toronto on the board.   Nik Antropov tied the game with a power-play goal at 10:39.   Matt Stajan gave the Leafs their first lead of the game with a goal just 47 seconds after Antropov's goal.

    Sergei Brylin tied the game with a power-play goal with just 1:09 remaining in regulation time.   Brylin's 13th goal of the season was assisted by John Madden.
