February 22, 2007 Game 61: Devils Beat Rangers 3-2 (Shootout)
The New Jersey Devils beat the Rangers 3-2 in a shootout in New
York on Thursday, February 22, 2007.
Marcel Hossa beat Martin Brodeur just 1:38 into the first period
to give the Rangers an early 1-0 lead.
The Rangers outshot the Devils 11-7 and led 1-0 at the end of the
first period.
Petr Prucha scored a power-play goal at 9:20 of the second period
to increase the Rangers lead to 2 goals.
Brian Rafalski beat Henrik Lundqvist at 13:34 to get the Devils
back within one goal. Rafalski's seventh goal of the season was assisted
by Jamie Langenbrunner and John Madden.
The Rangers led 2-1 at the end of the second period. The
Devils outshot the Rangers, 8-7 in the period.
Zach Parise tied the game with a goal at 12:47 of the third
period. Parise's 25th goal of the season was assisted by Travis Zajac
and Jamie Langenbrunner.
Regulation time ended with the game tied, 2-2.
