The New Jersey Devils beat the New York Rangers, 3-2 at home in a
shootout on Tuesday, February 6, 2007.
Paul Martin beat Henrik Lundqvist at 14:30 of the first period to
give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Martin's second goal of the season was
assisted by Scott Gomez and Patrik Elias.
Karel Rachunek beat Martin Brodeur on a power-play at 15:45 to
tie the game, 1-1.
The first period ended with the game tied, 1-1. The
Rangers outshot the Devils 10-6 in the period.
Zach Parise scored at 18:18 of the second period to give New
Jersey a 2-1 lead. Jamie Langenbrunner and Johnny Oduya assisted on
Parise's 21st goal of the season.
The Rangers outshot the Devils 12-6 in the second period, which
ended with the Devils leading, 2-1.
Jaromir Jagr banked the puck off Brodeur and into the net at 1:38
of the third period to tie the game, 2-2.
