November 04, 2006 Game 13: Devils Beat Canadiens 2-1
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Canadiens 2-1 in Montreal on
Saturday, November 4, 2006.
Jay Pandolfo beat Cristobal Huet at 12:38 of the first period
during 4 on 4 play to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Pandolfo's second goal
of the season was assisted by Paul Martin and John Madden.
The Devils outshot the Canadiens 13-8 in the first period, which
ended with the Devils leading 1-0.
Brian Rafalski beat Huet on a power-play at 10:52 of the second
period to make it a 2-0 Devils lead. Sergei Brylin was credited with the
only assist on Rafalski's first goal of the season.
Chris Higgins deflected a puck past Martin Brodeur on a
power-play at 13:46 to cut the Devils lead to 1 goal.
The Habs outshot the Devils 14-7 in the second period, which
ended with the Devils leading 2-1.
Neither team scored in the third period. The Canadiens
outshot the Devils 12-9 in the third period and 34-29 in the game.
