February 11, 2006 Game 58: Islanders Defeat Devils 2-1
The New Jersey Devils lost, 2-1 at home to the New York Islanders
on Saturday, February 11, 2006. The Devils next game will be played on
March 1, after the Olympic break.
Jason Blake beat Martin Brodeur 12:40 into the first period on a
power-play to give the Islanders a 1-0 lead.
Sergei Brylin tied the game with 21 seconds remaining in the
first period. Grant Marshall and Colin White assisted on Brylin's 12th
goal of the season.
The first period ended with the game tied, 1-1. The
Islanders outshot the Devils 14-10 in the period.
Alexei Yashin scored at 10:17 of the second period to give the
Islanders a 2-1 lead.
The Islanders outshot the Devils 12-10 in the second period which
ended with the Islanders leading, 2-1.
Neither team scored in the third period, so the Islanders won,
2-1.
