January 27, 2006 Game 52: Panthers Drop Devils, 4-0
The New Jersey Devils were shutout, 4-0 by the Panthers in
Florida on Friday, January 27, 2006.
Neither team managed to score in the first period. The
Devils came up empty on 3 power-play opportunities in the period, and were
outshot by the Panthers 10-7.
Martin Gelinas beat Martin Brodeur on a power-play at 9:26 of the
second period to give Florida a 1-0 lead. Chris Gratton increased the
lead with an even-strength goal at 12:23.
The second period ended with the Panthers leading the Devils,
2-0. The Panthers outshot the Devils 19-10 in the period.
Olli Jokinen made it a 3-0 lead for Florida at 6:19 of the third
period. Jozef Stumpel sealed the Panthers win with their fourth goal at

The Panthers outshot the Devils 11-5 in the third period and
40-22 in the game.
