Game 51: Devils Fall To Lightning, 1-0 in Overtime

    The New Jersey Devils lost, 1-0 to the Lightning in Tampa Bay on Thursday, January 26, 2006.

    The first period ended with the game scoreless, 0-0.   The Lightning outshot the Devils, 13-3 in the first 20 minutes.

    Neither team managed to score in the second period either, though the Devils had 4 power-play opportunities (Tampa had 1).   The Devils outshot the Lightning 9-8 in the period.

    After a third scoreless period, forced a 5 minute overtime period to decide the game.   Ruslan Fedotenko beat Martin Brodeur 2:22 into the overtime to win the game for Tampa Bay.
