December 17, 2005 Game 32: Hurricanes Beat Devils 4-1
The New Jersey Devils fell to the Hurricanes 4-1, in North
Carolina on Saturday, December 17, 2005.
Rod Brind'Amour beat Martin Brodeur on a power-play at 8:58 into
the first period to give Carolina a 1-0 lead.
The first period ended with the Hurricanes leading the Devils,
1-0. The Devils outshot the Hurricanes 10-5 in the period.
Aleksander Suglobov scored his first career NHL goal at 11:53 of
the second period on a power-play to tie the game, 1-1. Jamie
Langenbrunner and Brian Gionta assisted on the goal.
The Canes outshot the Devils 6-5 in the second period, which
ended with the game tied, 1-1.
Chad Larose beat Brodeur 1:59 into the third period and Eric
Staal scored just 19 seconds later to make it a 3-1 Hurricanes lead.
Erik Cole made it a 3 goal Hurricanes lead with a goal at 15:17
of the third period.
