December 07, 2005 Game 27: Flames Beat Devils 4-1
The New Jersey Devils lost 4-1 at home to the Calgary
Flames on Wednesday, December 7, 2005.
Alexander Mogilny slapped the puck past Flames netminder Philippe
Sauve at 12:50 of the first period on the power-play to give the Devils a 1-0
lead. Jamie Langenbrunner and Sergei Brylin assisted on Mogilny's 10th
goal of the season.
Jarome Iginla tied the game, beating Martin Brodeur on the
power-play with just 1:18 remaining in the first period. Flames 13-2 in the first period, but the
score was tied, 1-1.
Dion Phaneuf beat Brodeur just 48 seconds into the second period
on a 5 on 3 power-play. 38 seconds later Daymond Langkow scored a 5 on 4
power-play goal to make it a 3-1 Flames lead.
Jerome Iginla scored his second goal of the game at 12:51 to
increase the Flames lead to 3 goals.
The second period ended with the Flames leading the Devils, 4-1.
The Flames outshot the Devils 11-9 in the period.
There was no scoring in the third period. The Devils
outshot the Flames 10-2 in the third period and 32-15 in the game.
