November 30, 2003 Game 22: Devils & Avalanche Skate to 1-1 Tie
The New Jersey Devils skated to a 1-1 tie with the Avalanche in
Colorado on Sunday, November 30, 2003. The Devils collected four of
eight possible points (1-1-2-0) on their four game road trip.
There was no scoring in the first period. The Avalanche
outshot the Devils 8-5 in the period.
Milan Hejduk beat Martin Brodeur at 15:31 of the second period to
give Colorado a 1-0 lead.
Just 1:13 after Hejduk's goal, Erik Rasmussen got his first point
as a Devil, beating David Aebischer with a nice shot. Rasmussen's first
goal of the season was assisted by Paul Martin.
The second period came to a close with the game tied, 1-1.
The Devils outshot the Avalanche 15-6 in the period.
Neither team was able to put the puck past the opposing
goaltender in the third period. Colorado outshot New Jersey, 9-6 in the
third.
The five minute overtime period ended with the score the same as
when it started. The game finished with the Devils & Avalanche having to
settle for one point each.
