October 22, 2003 Game 5: Devils Blow Late Lead, Lose 2-1 to Panthers
The New Jersey Devils were defeated, 2-1 at home by the Florida
Panthers on Wednesday, October 22, 2003.
Here are a few of my pictures from the
game.
There was no scoring in the first, but the Devils outshot the
Panthers 15-7 in the period.
The second period ended with the game still in a scoreless tie.
The shots were even, 6-6, in the period.
Jamie Langenbrunner gave the Devils a 1-0 lead, beating Roberto
Luongo at 5:15 of the third period. Langenbrunner's 2nd goal of the
season was assisted by John Madden and Jay Pandolfo.
42 seconds was all it took, later in the period, for the Devils
lead to become a Panthers lead. Jay Bouwmeester & Olli Jokinen beat
Martin Brodeur at 14:37 & 15:19 of the third period, and Luongo made the lead
hold up.
The game ended with the Panthers defeating the Devils, 2-1.
The Devils outshot the Panthers 33-23 in the game.
Sean Brown played in his first game as a New Jersey Devil.
All fans in attendance received a Magnetic Devils 2003-2004
