March 28, 2003 Game 77: Devils and Thrashers Skate to 1-1 Tie
The New Jersey Devils skated to a 1-1 tie in Atlanta against the
Thrashers on Friday, March 28, 2003.
There was no scoring in the first period. The Devils
outshot the Thrashers, 16-3 in the period.
The second period also ended with no scoring. The Devils
outshot the Thrashers, 15-7 in the period.
Marc Savard gave the Thrashers a 1-0 lead 11:25 into the third
period.
Scott Gomez tied the game, with his 13th goal of the season, at
15:35 of the third. Scott Niedermayer and Turner Stevenson assisted on
Gomez's goal.
The third period ended with the game tied, 1-1. The Devils
outshot Atlanta 11-4 in the period.
The overtime period ended with no scoring. The Devils had
their best chance shorthanded with a 3 on 1 break with less than a minute left.
The Devils outshot the Thrashers 44-18 in the game.
