The Devils outshot the Ducks 4-1 in the overtime, but were outshot 35-32 in the game.

Petr Sykora was welcomed with cheers on his first return visit to Continental Airlines Arena since being traded to Anaheim in July.

The two teams will meet again in Anaheim on Friday, January 24, 2003.

The Devils now lead the lifetime series, 11-5-0-0, and 7-1-0-0 at home.

The Devils had four power-play opportunities in the game, but were unable to convert on any of their chances.   Their league worst power-play has now dropped to 5 goals in 62 opportunities (8.0%).
