Game 7: Devils Get Offense, Crush Lightning 5-1
    The Devils defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning, 5-1 in East Rutherford on Saturday, October 26, 2002.   The Devils win snapped the Lightning's 7-game unbeaten streak..
    Joe Nieuwendyk got his first goal of the season at 9:13 of the first period, giving the Devils a 1-0 lead.   The power-play goal was assisted by Scott Niedermayer and Oleg Tverdovsky.
    Patrik Elias put the puck past Tampa goaltender Kevin Hodson at 15:44 of the first period.   Elias's third goal of the season was assisted by Jeff Friesen and Scott Gomez.
    The first period ended with the Devils leading the Lightning 2-0.   The Devils outshot the Lightning, 12-5 in the period.
    Stephen Guolla got his first goal of the season, 5:34 into the second period.   Jamie Langenbrunner and John Madden assisted on the goal.
    John Madden scored for the Devils with 55 seconds remaining in the second period to give the Devils a 4-0 lead.   Jamie Langenbrunner and Ken Daneyko assisted on the goal.
    The second period ended with New Jersey leading Tampa Bay, 4-0.   The Devils outshot the Lightning 11-8 in the period.
    Chris Dingman destroyed Brodeur's hopes for a shutout at the 11:29 mark of the third period.
    John Madden beat Hodson at 13:16 of the third to give the Devils a 5-1 lead.   Scott Stevens got the only assist Madden's second goal (third point) of the game.   Stevens' assist was his 400th point as a Devil.
    The game ended with the Devils winning, 5-1.   Tampa Bay outshot New Jersey 8-6 in the third, but was outshot 30-21 in the game.
    The Devils improved their lifetime record against Tampa Bay to 30-9-5.
    It was "Calendar Night" at Continental Airlines Arena - all fans in attendance will took home a 2002-2003 Devils Team calendar.
    Brodeur reached the 35,000 minutes played milestone.
    Current Devils Andrei Zyuzin, Stephen Guolla, and Corey Schwab have all played for the Lightning at one point in the careers.   Tampa's Dave Andreychuk and Zdeno Ciger are ex-Devils.
