The New Jersey Devils shutout the Stars 3-0 in Dallas on
Sunday, March 10, 2002.
There was no scoring in the first period, but the Devils
outshot the Stars 9-6 in the period.
Tommy Albelin got his first goal of the season at 12:09
of the second period, giving the Devils a 1-0 lead. Albelin's
goal was assisted by Sergei Brylin and Ken Daneyko.
Sergei Brylin beat Belfour at 19:51 of the second period
on the power-play to give the Devils a 2-0 lead. Brylin's 10th
goal was assisted by Scott Gomez and Scott Niedermayer.
The second period ended with the Devils leading the Stars
2-0. The Devils outshot the Stars 6-4 in the period.
Brian Gionta got his second goal of the season at 18:45 of
the third period to give the Devils a 3-0 lead. Gionta's goal was
assisted by Bobby Holik and Tommy Albelin.
The game ended with the Devils winning, 3-0 over the Stars.

The shutout was Martin Brodeur's 54th career shutout and
his 3rd of the season.
