January 26, 2002 Devils & Wild Tie, 2-2
The New Jersey Devils and Minnesota Wild skated to a 2-2
tie in Minnesota on Saturday, January 26, 2001.
The first period saw no scoring, but several good scoring
chances for each team.
The first period ended with the game tied, 0-0. The
Devils outshot the Wild 15-10 in the period.
Darby Hendrickson beat Martin Brodeur at 2:35 of the second
period to give the Wild a 1-0 lead. The Devils defense broke down
when three Devils tried to cut off a pass and missed the puck.
Sergei Nemchinov beat Dwayne Roloson at 9:24 of the second
period to tie the game, 1-1. Nemchinov's 4th goal of the season
was assisted by Valeri Kamensky and Sergei Brylin.
Valeri Kamensky got his 6th point as a Devil in 5 games,
when he beat Roloson at 12:21 of the second period.
Marian Gaborik tied the game by beating Brodeur at 13:07.
The second period ended with the game tied, 2-2. The
Wild outshot the Devils 11-5 in the period.
The was no scoring in the third period.
Regulation time ended with the game in a 2-2 tie. The
Wild outshot the Devils again in the third period, 11-5 - and 34-25 through
regulation time.
The 5 minute overtime had a lot of action, but no scoring,
so the game ended in a 2-2 tie.
